Giovedì 23 marzo siamo andati a visitare Alcazar, che si trova a sud di Córdoba. Si tratta di una fortezza con dei giardini lussureggianti risalenti all’epoca romana e visigota con influenze arabe. Fu il luogo prediletto dei re e regine della città, infatti fu residenza reale sin dal 1236, anno della conquista cristiana della città.
Siamo stati accolti dai rappresentanti del comune di Córdoba, tra cui l’assessore alla gioventù e dalla preside della Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, la signora Teresa Liñán Maza. Inaspettata è stata l’accoglienza ricevuta, accompagnata da alcuni piccoli souvenir firmati dal Comune di Cordoba, che ci ha palesato l’estrema cordialità della dirigenza e dei cittadini; le nostre professoresse, che hanno intrattenuto le relazioni diplomatiche per tutto il progetto Erasmus, sono state omaggiate con le “Chiavi della Città” da parte dell’Assessore alla gioventù in persona, altra preziosa dimostrazione della cordialità spagnola.
Dopo aver visitato la fortezza con Ana, la figlia della Preside che gentilmente ci ha fatto da guida durante tutto il percorso, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di goderci una splendida vista nei giardini reali, tanto incantevoli quanto immensi.
Oltre ad aver avuto l’opportunità di visitare l’Alcazar, ci sono stati gentilmente donati i biglietti per poter visitare l’intera città sui bus turistici. Con ciò è stato possibile deliziarci della magnifica vista di tutti i caratteristici vicoli del centro abitato, adornati con monumenti e tipiche composizioni floreali, e di tutte le attrazioni principali messe a disposizione da questa facoltosa città, che si è dimostrata come un museo a cielo aperto pronto ad essere ammirato.
“È stata un’esperienza affascinante ed incantevole, oltre che interessante” dice Michela Botrugno; “un’avventura che rimarrà incisa nei nostri cuori, proprio come questa città, che ci ha accolti calorosamente e ci ha coccolati fin dal primo giorno!”. Sofia D’Agostino dice: “Un’esperienza stupenda, interessante, da lasciare a bocca aperta!”
On Thursday March 23 we went to visit the Alcazar, which is located south of Córdoba.
It is a fortress with lush gardens dating back to Roman and Visigothic times with Arab influences. It was the favorite place of the kings and queens of the city, in fact it was a royal residence since 1236, the year of the Christian conquest of the city.
We were welcomed by representatives of the municipality of Córdoba, including the youth councilor and the principal of the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Mrs. Teresa Liñán Maza.
The welcome received was unexpected, accompanied by some small souvenirs signed by the Municipality of Cordoba, which revealed to us the extreme cordiality of the management and citizens; our teachers, who maintained diplomatic relations throughout the Erasmus project, were presented with the “Keys to the City” by the Councilor for Youth himself, another precious demonstration of Spanish friendliness.
After visiting the fortress with Ana, the daughter of the Principal who kindly acted as our guide throughout the journey, we had the opportunity to enjoy a splendid view in the royal gardens, as enchanting as they are immense.
In addition to having had the opportunity to visit the Alcazar, we were kindly given tickets to visit the entire city on tourist buses. With this it was possible to delight in the magnificent view of all the characteristic alleys of the town, adorned with monuments and typical floral compositions, and of all the main attractions made available by this wealthy city, which has proved to be an open-air museum ready to be admired.
“It was a fascinating and enchanting experience, as well as interesting” says Michela Botrugno; “an adventure that will remain engraved in our hearts, just like this city, which warmly welcomed us and pampered us from day one!”. Sofia D’Agostino says: “a wonderful, interesting, jaw-dropping experience!
